How to Prevent Coupon Code Misuse

When dealing with coupons, there’s one major thing you’ve probably considered - coupon misuse! The Collect Tools have been built for retailers, with retailers’ concerns and needs in mind. So you don’t have to worry about the dreaded coupon misuse problem anymore.

What is coupon misuse? If a consumer tries to redeem a coupon that doesn’t belong to them or tries to redeem a coupon more than once.

To avoid the misuse of coupons, all Collect coupons are unique to the customer and to the reward they have unlocked or offer. This means it can only be used once. When they redeem a coupon in-store, the coupon code can no longer be redeemed online, and vice-versa.

There’s just a couple things staff need to know to protect your store.

- First, make sure you apply the sale to the customer.
- Scan the coupon into point-of-sale, or if you enter the coupon code in manually, make sure you fully enter in the correct coupon code.

This removes it from the customer’s account and Apple Wallet, so they can’t redeem it again. Plus it removes it from your point-of-sale, so no one else can redeem a coupon that doesn’t rightfully belong to them.

And the same goes for online. Every coupon code is unique and customers can only redeem their unique coupon once.

So that’s one less thing you have to worry about!
